As physicians we have cherished our independence, we have worked to be at the top of our class, we have competed with the best minds in the world, and yet we are going to know allow ourselves and our profession to be dictated to and to tell us how to practice our profession, and treat our patients.
Without physicians, the healthcare system will come to a grinding halt.
Why should we not be able to charge consult fees?
Why should we not be able to pass our increased costs onto our clients?
Why is it that the legislature can determine that we will no longer be able to charge a fee for service?
We don’t see the legislature or our government controlling the rising cost of gasoline. Yet every industry is paying over 30% more for these costs. Much higher than any increase in their healthcare costs!
This has gone beyond our rights as individuals and as businesses. This is the demise in socialization of the medicine, the most noble profession.
